PLATFORMS
To Fernando de Villena
Waiting for it is not known what.
That empty platform, with the rain
and his silence.
Perhaps as a den of stories
that are repeated over and over again.
A place to go far away
like a ceremonial that is prepared
with the calm slowness of the days.
A place that does not stop the road
and remains, veiled mystery,
with its solitude and its vast night.
Eyes waiting
and calm heart.
ANDENES
A Fernando de Villena
A la espera de no se sabe qué.
Aquel andén vacío, con la lluvia
y su silencio.
Acaso como guarida de historias
que se repiten una y otra vez.
Un lugar para partir muy lejos
como un ceremonial que se prepara
con la calma lentitud de los días.
Un lugar que no detiene el camino
y permanece, velado misterio,
con su soledad y su vasta noche.
Los ojos a la espera
y el corazón en calma.
Reebok.

TELLING THAT THE BARBARIANS DO NOT EXIST
Because it got dark and the barbarians
[did not arrive.
Some have come from the borders
and told that barbarians do not exist.
C.P. KAVAFIS
They point out that many beggars
will come
from southern lands.
Some are dangerous black slaves
who have glassy eyes
of hate.
Others come from the East
with his misery and some
fake Reebok
slippers.
There are even those who live here,
by your side, and dirty
the coffee shop cups
when they have finished drinking
its pity coffee.
But why do we keep
waiting
to the beggars?
Kavafis waited for the barbarians
and we to the beggars.
How has the story changed!
Those came with power,
these come with misfortune.

AMENDMENT´S PURPOSE
To those who died in the pandemic
Everything sinks
and the world leaves its dirty silence. Everything sinks
in semidarkness house,
with empty shelves
and mercy as a companion.
Everything sinks
in this slow lethargy towards
oblivion.
Everything sinks.
And me trying to be a man
getting dirty in my man humanity,
in my man impurity.
Everything sinks.
I know that my life has to be
wander the horizon
in search of that broken humanity.
I know that my man life
look for his nude,
in the bewilderment of an empty
house.
Silence the light,
invoking a kind of armistice.
Trying to make the world
do not sink into forgetfulness,
trying that pain
not be a night mask.
PROPÓSITO DE ENMIENDA
A los fallecidos en la pandemia
Todo se hunde
y el mundo deja su silencio sucio.
Todo se hunde
en la casa en penumbra,
con los anaqueles vacíos
y la piedad como compañera.
Todo se hunde
en este lento letargo hacia el olvido.
Todo se hunde.
Y yo tratando de ser hombre,
ensuciándome en mi humanidad
de hombre,
en mi impureza de hombre.
Todo se hunde.
Sé que mi vida ha de ser
vagar por el horizonte
en busca de esa humanidad rota.
Sé que mi vida de hombre
busca su desnudo,
en el desconcierto de una casa vacía.
Silente la luz,
invocando una suerte de armisticio.
Tratando de que el mundo
no se hunda en la desmemoria,
tratando de que el dolor
no sea una máscara de noche.

The mythical archetype of Orpheus and the three wounds
Human beings need narrative symbols that make us return again and again to the origin of being and being in the world. The being that Heidegger referred to. One of these symbolic uncertainties is the myth of Orpheus. His descent into the underworld (the catabasis or the down travel) is for love. His emblem, Orphism, anchors in the cult of two divinities that define us, Apollo and Dionysus, who emerge in their dualism but who require us in their vitality. Orpheus combines Apollo and Dionysus in humanity, but also light and darkness, the human and the divine, light and shadows.
Despite everything, Orpheus has been singularly one of the myths that has gone most unnoticed for much of the history of humanity, although, from our point of view, it symbolizes within it the three great words that determine our existence: love, life and death.
The Spanish poet Miguel Hernandez, in a very simple poem that would be immortalized internationally by the singer-songwriter Joan Baez, said:
He arrived with three injuries:
that of love,
that of death,
that of life.
With three wounds he comes:
that of life,
that of love,
that of death.
With three wounds me:
that of life,
that of death,
that of love.
In the myth of Orpheus he has three hurts: love, life and death. In these three words the great issues inherent to the human being are raised, where other great ideas that are also associated with Orpheus are inserted: music, always associated with poetry, art, the desire for immortality, sexuality, vitality and resurrection, the pain for lost love, the role of women and animals…
However, Orpheus, according to Plato, also had a imperfection: being incapable of dying to live his love with Eurydice in the underworld.
But he doesn’t really want love in the underworld, in a telluric environment, but in life. He does not understand love in death but in life.
Since ancient times it is known that music, personified in Orpheus, was considered an essential force capable of preserving illnesses and elevating man to divinity, but also as capable of precipitating him towards the forces of evil, capable of calming storms, calm the spirits of the crew and even defeat the feared sirens in their adventure with the Argonauts.
The power of music associated with poetry, with words, breaks the limits of nature, calms animals, moves mountains, changes the course of rivers, overcomes the borders between life and death.
The love for Eurydice led him to visit hell, to notice the power of death, to rush into it, but also the desire to contemplate it led him to not be able to enjoy his beloved in life and to have to suffer enormous punishments until he met again.
She already dead in Hades. However, love ended up conquering death, as in the well-known poem by the Spanish poet Francisco de Quevedo, “Constant love beyond death,” which says in its last hendecasyllable: “Dust will be more dust in love.”
In her desire to reunite with Eurydice, really Orpheus recreated her memory, but not herself. He was building a fiction that later makes him succumb.
In today’s world, how many times do we construct fictions that make us succumb to the reality of that catabasis. We always live with three wounds: that of life, that of death and that of love, and, in his mythical archetype, Orpheus can bring us closer to understanding the world, of Heideggerian dasein, with its relevance and its humanity.
